The Department of Biotechnology was established in 2004, mainly focusing on teaching-learning and research in the field of biotechnology, bioinformatics and microbiology. We currently offer 03 UG and 03 PG courses (B.Sc. Biotechnology, B.Sc. Bioinformatics, B.Voc. Bioproducts Technician, M.Sc. Biotechnology, M.Sc. Bioinformatics and M.Sc. Microbiology). The department has well-qualified and experienced faculty members engaged in teaching and research activities. Department has a separate library equipped with 1500 books, journals and digital study materials. The state-of-the-art research laboratories available at department to conduct daily practicals and research. The thrust areas of research undertaken by the department is Plant Biotechnology, Applied and Industrial Microbiology, Cancer Biology, Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, Infectious Diseases and Protein Sciences, Eukaryotic Gene Expression, Modern Biology, Applied Enzymology, Bioinformatics & Computational Biology.
Other than teaching-learning process, our teaching staff also engaged to conduct following co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for students.
