Department of Commerce is only the department having English medium for imparting commerce education in Marathwada Region. It caters the need of Trade, Industry and Commerce for Manpower requirements. DCA has started the Dept. of Commerce in 1965 and P.G. Courses in 1982 (M.Com. & D.B.M.) During Academic Year 2007-08, the Dept. has started B.B.A. & B.C.A. to satisfy the growing need of Business World. During Academic Year 2016-17, the Dept. has started PMKVY (Account Executive for payable & receivable management and Mutual Fund Agent) We also guide the students for promotion of Employment and Self Employment opportunities by arranging guest lectures of different authorities from DIC, MIDC, MCED,NSE and even from Industrial Sector, the industrialist whereby the students vision can be developed.
Scope & importance
New economic reforms and globalization has increased the scope and importance of commerce education. Particularly scope and importance of commerce education is more because of increasing demand of IT and Financial Services sector day by day. Aurangabad is the Fastest growing city in Asia which has created favourable environment for commercial and industrial activities. At present Aurangabad is having four industrial areas which is Chikalthana, Waluj, Paithan, and Shendra. Creation of Special Economic Zones (SEZ) have also created demand for commerce graduates. It is prospective I.T. City of Maharashtra State in near Future. It is also in the DMIC project of Govt. of India. It is connected by Road, Rail and Air with all corners of the country. Hence, Commerce education is having tremendous scope. Our time to time updated syllabus is more useful for completing professional courses like C.A., CMA, C.S.,M.B.A. and other relevant courses. Aurangabad is Capital city of Marathwada Region having industrial and business center with great background of historical and cultural heritage.
